Mildred
is the rally Mini made famous on the UK's international
rally stages,
immortalised in 2005 by Corgi.
Constructed
to "Group A" regulations (the most powerful specification
of Mini allowed by FIA regulations), Mildred successfully
completed many rallies during 2000 winning her class in
the Safety Devices National Rally Championship driven by
Neil and navigated by Anna McColl.
Although
Mildred is constructed to Group A specification, some modifications
have been carried out to push the specification past this.
Group A requires this Mini to run on the standard fuel injector,
and a cylinder head with standard sized valves. During 2000,
Mildred was running on twin 1"3/4 SU carburetors, and
a large valve cylinder head to generate considerably more
power than GpA.
Mildred
has been returned to GpA specification in order to compete
at international and World Rally Championship level.
Current specification includes:
Multi-point Safety Devices roll cage
Fully rose jointed suspension
Ohlins Shock Absorbers
AP racing vented brakes with 4 pot calipers (Ex Timo Makinen,
1994 Monte Carlo Rally)
