Purdey Cooper 1.3i (1993)

Purdey is the
first car constructed by the team for entry into the Mighty Minis
Championship, driven by Neil. She is also the most famous Mini in
the team after being immortalised by Corgi in the form of 5200 models.
Originally destined
for 'works' British Motor Heritage sponsorship, the current colour
scheme - one of the most distinctive in motorsport today - was devised
for the Mini Shops advertising campaign.
Purchased as
a "stolen/recovered" insurance write-off, Purdey (sporting
the rare Silver/Black colours from the factory) was re-built to
Mighty Mini specifications during spring 1998, to contest 2 full
seasons before Neil was distracted with Mildred. Winning the first
Mighty Mini novice award during 1998, Purdey was a focal point in
CBM's PR plan during 1999, helping to achieve coverage in at least
one high street publication per month throughout the year. Purdey
has starred on Meridian TV's "Classic Cars" when she was
taken around Curborough circuit, BBC World Service radio(!), and
also BBC TV's "Dispatches" about the Minis life.
2001 and a year
off for Purdey except for one race to determine the Fastest Mini
in the World. Neil found a class win and third overall a most satisfactory
result after a year of rallying.
